First Family Wealth has transitioned to operate as our own independent RIA, allowing us to streamline operations, adopt modern technology, and provide an even better client experience. We’ve moved custodians from Goldman Sachs to Altruist as part of this transition. This change means you’ll need to sign new account documents, but don’t worry—we’ll guide you through every step of the process.
Altruist is the fastest-growing custodian and third-largest custodian by advisors served, currently supporting nearly 5,000 financial advisors. We chose them because they provide advanced digital tools, including a comprehensive mobile application and streamlined account management that our previous custodian couldn’t offer.
No. Your financial plan and investment strategy will remain the same unless we discuss updates together. This change is about improving the service and technology behind the scenes.
We’ll guide you through signing new account documents with Altruist and handle the transfer process. My team and I will walk you through every step and handle the paperwork to keep the process as smooth as possible.
No. There are no additional fees for moving your accounts to Altruist. Your existing fee schedule with First Family Wealth will remain the same. Transfer or termination fees associated with this transition will be reimbursed. Our goal is to make the move seamless, transparent, and cost free to you.
No. First Family Wealth will continue under the same name, with the same website, phone number, and email addresses you already use. You can reach us in all the familiar ways, and our office location and staff remain unchanged. The only difference is that we will now operate as an independent Registered Investment Advisor, giving us even more flexibility to serve you.
The transition officially begins October 17th. Starting on, or shortly after, that date, you’ll receive communications from us to begin the new account opening process with Altruist. We’ll schedule time to review everything with you and handle the paperwork step-by-step so there are no surprises.
